Saturday's workshops will be a case group exercise
focused on empathy and define / clarify
We will use the d.school @ Stanford University Approach and reference the Harvard Business School (HBS) Approach. We will focus on the first two steps of the d.school approach being Empathy and Define, or Clarify which is the HBS approach which combines Empathy and Define. In all cases, we are using process focused on innovation that is human-centered.
The IIBA (iiba.org) BABOK v3 Guide addresses this in part, and the IIBA Product Ownership Analysis Guide addresses this, specifically in chapter 5.2.
There is no cost for this morning session which starts at 10 am ET to accommodate most North America time zones.
DESIGN THINKING - A Problem-Solving Approach
Design thinking is a problem-solving approach that emphasizes empathy, creativity, and iterative prototyping to develop innovative solutions to complex problems. It is a human-centered approach to design that focuses on understanding the needs and perspectives of users, and using that understanding to inform the design process.
Design thinking involves several stages, including
- understanding the problem,
- gathering information and insights,
- brainstorming and ideation,
- prototyping and testing, and
- iterating based on feedback.
Throughout the process, design thinking encourages collaboration, experimentation, and a willingness to iterate and refine ideas.
Design thinking can be applied to a wide range of challenges, from
- product design to
- business strategy to
- social innovation.
It has become increasingly popular in recent years as a way to foster innovation and creativity in a variety of contexts.
