Overview

This session is about product management and how to successfully participate in product.

We will cover skills, tools, and techniques that are common and necessary in product management. We will look at how to use these in your initiatives.

Where ever you are, we will address moving from a project mindset to a product mindset, and the skills and competencies you will want to develop to transition to and operate in the new transformed environment.

Product is about value and outcome. In a product management initiative, value and outcome replace output, scheduling, timelines, budget management and the singular focus on the sponsor. The focus now shifts to a maintaining a value, often human-centered, which requires long-term evaluation of the initiative’s output critical.

In this presentation we will cover:

  • Elements of Product Management
  • Incorporating these elements into internal projects
  • The challenges of why not everyone responds positively to a new service rollout and what can be done
  • Defining value in business environments
  • Understanding stakeholders as customers in some situations and its impact
  • Advice on pathways and skills to move into a product career
