Start Your Project On The Right Foot – Build A Solid BRD That Communicates To All

Are you struggling with creating value by using the preamble sections of Business Requirements Documents? A significant purpose of the business analysis role is communication, influence and persuasion as you deliver analysis and requirements that will align the business outcome (think stakeholder wants) to the business need. The stronger this document is, the better the communication, management, collaboration, and analysis you will be able to deliver. That makes tis document a powerful assistant for the competent business analyst, and a time saver.

This includes the

  • Executive Summary
  • the Project Background
  • an effective Introduction
  • Objectives
  • starting the document with In & Out of Scope

Make the areas of a solid BRD stand out to deliver value.  What's the difference between

  • Goals
  • Objectives
  • Success Criteria
  • Benefits
  • Measures of Success
  • Etc.

These variables can be especially troublesome when the project is an IT infrastructure undertaking.
