Details
As Rear Admiral Grace Hopper of the US Navy once said, you manage things; you lead people. Effective leaders have a firm grounding in current realities, but use that knowledge as a pivot point to move their organizations and their people to the great accomplishments delineated by the organizational vision. Leadership expert James McGregor Burns introduced the concept of transformational leadership in his 1978 book, "Leadership." He defined transformational leadership as a process where "leaders and their followers raise one another to higher levels of morality and motivation." Bernard M. Bass later developed the concept of transformational leadership further, as one who Is a model of integrity and fairness, sets clear goals, has high expectations, encourages others, provides support and recognition, stirs the emotions of people, gets people to look beyond their self-interest and inspires people to reach for the improbable. Tall order.
In this presentation you will learn how:
- Transformational leadership differs from transactional leadership
- Transformational leadership is manifested through a strategy execution framework that leverages organizational mission, vision, and values to drive strategic objectives, which in turn define and drive programs, projects and other initiatives
- Transformational leaders link all of this to value-creating job functions all the way down the line, in order to establish sustainable ownership for organizational success in their people.
- The concept and practice of the Leader Within is the fuel that transforms organizations at strategic, tactical and operational levels
- Effective Business Analysis is a key enabler for all of the above.
