Lessons learned and forgotten
that we need to learn again
Fields from aerospace to medicine are reaching back into their history to find exciting new ideas—good ideas that were set aside and forgotten. Although Business Analysis as a defined profession is fairly young, we have been doing business analysis much longer and learned many lessons. But in our eager desire to chase the latest fad or buzz phrase, we have forgotten much along the way. In this talk, we will explore some of the most promising, lesser-known ideas that still have tremendous value for making Business Analysis more effective.
- When should quality of service, or non-functional, requirements be analyzed in an agile project?
- What techniques actually work to estimate requirements analysis effort?
- What should we know about business risks caused by our processes and systems?
- What are we still doing that we should have stopped doing long ago?
