Process Modelling 

Workshop for

Business Analysts


The Process Modeling course provides participants with theory and fundamentals of process modeling, to comprehensively model an enterprise, department, or set of business processes in support of delivering complete business requirements.

The course covers a variety of best-practices in standard process modeling notations (e.g. IDEFO, DFD, BPMN) to provide insight and coverage of the full language of process descriptions. The course can be run as a standalone or in conjunction with the Business Analysis and Requirements Definition course.

The course consists of a formal presentation supplemented by a case study and class room based exercises.


When put into practice, the benefits of process modeling include:
  • Foundation for a variety of change management disciplines: e.g. software development, process improvement and management, outsourcing, target operating model design etc.
  • Creates transparency around a business operation
  • Provides a common language for different business domain experts to communicate effectively and make joint business decisions.

Business Analysts involved with defining business processes, for any process related discipline i.e. software development, process improvement (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma), business architecture, target operating model design etc.
